Autobahn went really great this year (ie: we didn't total our car and we actually made it to the festival!). We had a great time hanging out with the other bands, and made a decent amount of sales (even though the turnout was a bit less than normal). Andy's show went really well, although there is a fantastic highlight at the end of this blog that you don't want to miss... but I'll say no more.
This is why he does it...
This is our table - we were next to iSatellite and the Reagan Eighties. We had the most colorful display, by far... and the best deals on what we were selling (because we were desperately trying to get rid of stuff!). I sat at the merch table all night, but I surprisingly didn't get as many of the jealous glares from other women as I expected. They kept their distance... a wise choice, indeed.
This is the new room that they had the festival in, it is WAY bigger than where they've had it every other year, which was very exciting! That big bright blur in the background is not a TV but a huge FISH TANK! I was pretty excited about the whole thing... but, come to think of it, the fish probably don't enjoy the booming base and flashing lights very much... I didn't see any belly-up, but I wouldn't be surprised...
This is Andy getting ready for his show... realizing that his inks are all really really old, and also expertly duck-taping his canvas to an "easel". What a jolly lad I have. :)
Andy's show...
the first stages of his painting (more below) and a few
moments of what I like to call sing/dancing...
And now, what I like to call dance/painting...
And no Cut the Red Wire show is complete without a
synth solo... which Andy mostly just makes up as he goes.
And now for the story of a painting that just kept changing...
(those are some nice shoulders, eh?)
The final product... we had a lot of people who wanted to buy it, but only
one woman was lucky enough to actually take it home...
And now, ladies and gentlemen... my favorite moment, and everyone else's favorite moment, of the entire Autobahn Festival 2009... it's a 3-minute video, but the grand finale doesn't happen... until the very very very end.... so strap yourselves in and get ready for the ride of your life... (it would be way better if the stupid camera had been able to focus on him... but sadly, much of it is a bit blurry)
